General overview of activities

The Swiss HIV research foundation supports 3 core projects: Core genetics, Core resistance and Core metabolism and aging. This includes the financing of infrastructure, data generation and storage, and the DNA-repository that constitute the basis for other projects in these respective fields.

In addition to the above, specific original projects of high quality proposed by the SHCS can be funded.

Project financing

The Foundation Board decides upon the allocation of funds. As with all research projects of the SHCS, the funding is linked with incentives, under the responsability of the board of the SHCS:

• 25% of the fund is allocated at the project start.
• 25% if the deadlines are respected.
• 50% – the remainder is provided when the research results are published.
